Giving to Adelphi

Women’s Giving Circle Testimonials

Hear from people who have been helped by the Women’s Giving Circle.

Thanks to the generous support of the Women’s Giving Circle, Adelphi University’s Center for Career Development continues to provide top-tier and innovative career services for our students and alumni. Their continued support helps generations of Panthers secure rewarding, productive, and enriching internship and career opportunities.

– Thomas J. Ward, Jr., Executive Director Center for Career Development

I cannot thank the Women’s Giving Circle enough for their their great work, commitment to the university, and their generosity, which have greatly enriched the Adelphi experience for the students enrolled in the Bridges to Adelphi Program. Because of grants from the Women’s Giving Circle, two new pilot programs have been started that focus on the development of important new program services: New vocational support services for students enrolled in the Bridges Program that are designed to help prepare them for life after graduation. As a result of this grant, students are now offered individual and group help with resume writing, job interview skills, understanding work expectations and skills, internship opportunities, and job coaching. A Community Service program was started that has given students enrolled in the Bridges Program opportunities to pay back and pay forward to the university and the community. Students have raised money for an autism family support agency, collected food for the hungry, collected school supplies for the needy, and most recently started volunteering at the Adelphi Early Childhood Center. The Bridges Program also has a team in Relay for Life, and is holding a campus wide “Yard Sale” to raise funds for this event on March 31st. There is no doubt that the Women’s Giving Circle has made a difference.

– Mitch Nagler M.A., LMHC, Director, Bridges to Adelphi Program
